Corporate Social Responsibility Officer
Background:
The Center for Development Services (CDS) seeks highly qualified and accomplished public health leaders and providers for the recently awarded United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Strengthening Egypt’s Family Planning Program (SEFPP). The five-year program is led by John Snow, Inc. (JSI) in partnership with the Busara Center for Behavioral Economics, CDS, and Population Council and works in the nine governorates of Upper Egypt and the slum areas of Cairo and Alexandria. SEFPP is designed to provide technical assistance and training in support of Egypt’s Family Planning/Reproductive Health (FP/RH) Program, with a focus on increasing demand for FP services and improving the quality of services to lead to a positive change in contraceptive use over time.
Job Summary:
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Officer is a full-time position based in the Cairo office. S/he shall help define and develop the strategies to increase the business people, corporations and its affiliated civil society foundations' support to the FP/RH efforts in Egypt during and beyond the program's lifetime. S/he shall plan and oversee advocacy and networking to increase awareness of key stakeholders (the Family Planning Sector, and the National Population Council, among others in the government, corporate sector, related syndicates and business associations) as policies and regulations allow in encouraging the private sector to play a greater role in FP/RH. The CSR Officer shall generate knowledge, build relationships, and create opportunities to help the SEFPP achieve its key results under his/her designated area of responsibility. S/he shall coordinate with other SEFPP's teams whenever needed the various program's activities targeting the private sector involvement within the program.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Review previous experiences and successful examples of incorporating CSR within and outside of Egypt to identify potential partners in FP/RH;
• Plan and conduct assessment studies that the SEFPP requires to generate data and knowledge relevant to its aims to increase the private sector involvement in FP/RH fields;
• Assist the SEFPP to develop a strategy and promotion materials to achieve its intended results in enhancing the CSR contributions to the FP/RH efforts in Egypt;
• Develop the CSR materials that the SEFPP requires for its CSR publicity and advocacy activities
• Participate in the annual CSR Forum and similar events to enhance the SEFPP's linkages with participating corporate members and increase visibility of the FP/RH issues and interests among them;
• Explore, and create opportunities for the SEFPP to gain the support of the corporate sector and its contributions to advance its aims and impact;
• Work with identified partners to develop specific CSR activities related to FP.
Desired Qualifications:
• BA degree in business administration or related field with a higher educational qualification in marketing or CSR (preferred);
• Minimum three years of experience working in the corporate sector environment and engaging in CSR activities;
• Demonstrate interest and understanding to support FP/RH causes and aims that the SEFPP promotes in Egypt;
• Demonstrate ability and creativity to convey the FP/RH issues and interests to be appealing to the private sector;
• Ability to network at all corporate levels;
• A team player;
• Ability to interpret and analyze data;
• Excellent administration and organizational skills;
• Strong time management and program management skills;
• Strong English and Arabic language skills, both verbal and written.

S/he shall help define and develop the strategies to increase the business people, corporations and its affiliated civil society foundations' support to the FP/RH efforts in Egypt during and beyond the program's lifetime. S/he shall plan and oversee advocacy and networking to increase awareness of key stakeholders (the Family Planning Sector, and the National Population Council, among others in the government, corporate sector, related syndicates and business associations) as policies and regulations allow in encouraging the private sector to play a greater role in FP/RH. The CSR Officer shall generate knowledge, build relationships, and create opportunities to help the SEFPP achieve its key results under his/her designated area of responsibility. S/he shall coordinate with other SEFPP's teams whenever needed the various program's activities targeting the private sector involvement within the program.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Review previous experiences and successful examples of incorporating CSR within and outside of Egypt to identify potential partners in FP/RH;
• Plan and conduct assessment studies that the SEFPP requires to generate data and knowledge relevant to its aims to increase the private sector involvement in FP/RH fields;
• Assist the SEFPP to develop a strategy and promotion materials to achieve its intended results in enhancing the CSR contributions to the FP/RH efforts in Egypt;
• Develop the CSR materials that the SEFPP requires for its CSR publicity and advocacy activities
• Participate in the annual CSR Forum and similar events to enhance the SEFPP's linkages with participating corporate members and increase visibility of the FP/RH issues and interests among them;
• Explore, and create opportunities for the SEFPP to gain the support of the corporate sector and its contributions to advance its aims and impact;
• Work with identified partners to develop specific CSR activities related to FP.
Desired Qualifications:
• BA degree in business administration or related field with a higher educational qualification in marketing or CSR (preferred);
• Minimum three years of experience working in the corporate sector environment and engaging in CSR activities;
• Demonstrate interest and understanding to support FP/RH causes and aims that the SEFPP promotes in Egypt;
• Demonstrate ability and creativity to convey the FP/RH issues and interests to be appealing to the private sector;
• Ability to network at all corporate levels;
• A team player;
• Ability to interpret and analyze data;
• Excellent administration and organizational skills;
• Strong time management and program management skills;
• Strong English and Arabic language skills, both verbal and written.

Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidates will work under the supervision of RCREEE technical team in any of the following areas:
Research and analysis on renewable energy and energy efficiency trends and technologies in the Arab States
Engage in project support and implementation in the fields of policy, institutional development, facts/figures, finance and private investments promotion relevant to RE/EE.
Engage in RCREEE’s business development activities.
General Qualifications
1- Recent graduate of: Engineering, Environmental Studies, Economics, Political Science, international law or Business Administration
2- Being enrolled in or a holder of a relevant Master’s Degree is a plus
3- Previous experience in the field of sustainable energy and similar developmental projects is a plus
4- Fluency in Arabic and one of the two languages; English or French, is a must
5- Enthusiastic about the role of RCREEE and renewable energy and energy efficiency fields, and ready to learn
6- Excellent writing, editing and communications skills
7- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and deadlines-oriented
8- Internet and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency is required
General Terms and Conditions
1- The internship program operates on a remunerative basis. 2- For interns from countries other than the host country, travel arrangements are the responsibility of RCREEE
3- Non-Egyptian interns will receive a monthly amount equivalent to 600 Euros to cover accommodation and living expenses.
4- It is the responsibility of the intern to arrange for his/her accommodation. RCREEE provides selected interns with a list of brokers’ contacts.
5- Egyptian interns will receive a monthly amount equivalent to 300 Euros
6- Medical Insurance is the sole responsibility of the intern
